The Woolwich Equitable is the area’s first public house from Antic London. Built in 1935, the former Building Society turned pub is a welcome addition to the daily buzz of General Gordon Square.
Situated in Equitable House on the main square, we are conveniently located next to Woolwich Arsenal National Rail and DLR stations, and the idyllic Woolwich Royal Arsenal development bordering the River Thames.
Heavily driven by locally and regionally sourced beverages, we offer a selection of real ales, draught and bottle beers, fine wines and spirits. Boasting six real ale hand pumps, you can expect to find a variety of handpicked brews on rotation from local microbrewery Hopstuff Brewery, as well as some well established mainline favourites. With our exciting drinks menu, we are the perfect place to while away the evening.
Our kitchen serves fresh seasonal British pub fare, offering a selection of snacking plates and hearty main dishes, traditional Sunday roasts and bar snacks. To book a table fill in the booking enquiry form at the bottom of Food & Drink page.
Step inside and you will find an exciting mix of grand marble, vintage décor and quirky design features inspired by the building’s original function. Our grand mezzanine, spacious open plan bar and seating area, and private function room makes a charming destination for any social occasion. For more details about venue hire please ask one of our friendly team.
In the next few months we will be putting together an engaging program of events to keep you entertained throughout the week. Keep your eyes peeled on for more details.
Whether for a quiet mid-week drink or a lively gathering with friends why not pop in and get aquatinted your new neighbours!
